The following procedures are used in cases of severe weather or other emergency for which the school may need to be closed, they are designed to ensure the safety of students and staff.
Parents will be informed of an emergency closure by the following means
> by letter taken home by students at the end of the previous day
OR
> by listening to Heart 102.6 FM or www.heartsomerset.co.uk
> by checking on the homepage of www.holyroodschool.com
IF YOU DO NOT HEAR ANYTHING BY EITHER LETTER OR MEDIA
PLEASE ASSUME THAT THE SCHOOL IS OPEN AS NORMAL
If it is necessary to close the school early in the day, school transport will be rearranged to deliver students home at the earlier time.
Please make arrangements for your child in such circumstances, either:
> to be able to gain access to your home
OR
> for them to go to a neighbour or relatives home
AND
> for your child to phone you to confirm they have arrived safely
If your child is not able to gain access to your home, or that of a neighbour/relative, arrangements will be made for them to remain at school until you can make emergency arrangements.
In emergency circumstances, many parents and staff will be phoning into school and the lines become very busy. Please be patient, and staff will answer your call as soon as possible.
These arrangements will help make an unforeseen school closure as smooth and safe as possible.
