DRAMA NEWS
The
Year 11 visit to Stratford was very successful. Mrs Hogg organised a feast
of culture, including a tour of the town, handouts, and a performance of
‘The Crucible’. The show was excellent - it has had rave reviews, and has
since transferred to the West End.
The
Sixth Form are moving into final rehearsals for the AS/A2 show at the Tacchi
Morris Arts Centre in Taunton. The Lower Sixth students are performing ‘Our
Country’s Good’ - a shortened version, and the Upper Sixth students are
presenting highly original truncated versions of ’A Woman of No Importance’
by Oscar Wilde and ’What The Butler Saw’ by Joe Orton - music provided by
Martyn Hiscox and band.
The
GCSE group will be performing their final pieces in the drama studio (Ribena
Room) on 16 May at 7.00pm. Work will be original, varied and
exciting. Visits are being organised for late in the Summer term are to the
Theatre Royal in Bath to see ‘Trainspotting’ and to Regents Park to see ‘A
Midsummer Night’s
Dream’.
