Welcome back to all students for the new term, I hope everyone has had a
good summer and is refreshed and ready to enjoy studying their
favourite
subject Maths!
Congratulations go out to last years GCSE and A level students for achieving
excellent results. There were 60% of year 11 students who achieved A*-C at
GCSE, which is even better than last year’s record results! Also, all our
year 13 students passed their A level for the second successive year and
achieved 45% A-C grades.
Year 11
students will be completing their final piece of coursework on Statistics,
which is due in just before October half term. The quality of their year 10
algebra coursework was very pleasing and similar levels of commitment will
be needed to achieve high scores on their final piece. The excellent grades
achieved by the students at GCSE this year was directly related to the high
standards of coursework they produced. So take note: Good coursework leads
to good grades.
Maths Club
will be running again this year with Puzzles and Games on Tuesday week A
(1.20-1.50 in L6) and Code Breaking Challenges on Wednesday week B
(1.00-1.30 in M1). Looking forward to seeing you there!
