Please note that if adverse weather conditions are likely
to affect the running of the school, full details will be posted below, otherwise please assume
that the school
is operating normally.

|
IF YOU DO NOT HEAR ANYTHING BY LETTER OR MEDIA, PLEASE
ASSUME THAT THE SCHOOL IS OPEN. |
|
These are the procedures we use in cases of severe winter
weather; they are drawn up to ensure the students’ safety.
You will be told that the school is to be closed either
i. by letter taken home by students at the end of the
previous day
OR
ii. by listening to the radio:
News of the school’s re-opening will be broadcast as
above and posted on this, and the 'HOME' page of this website.

| If it is necessary to close the school early in
the day, school transport will be rearranged to deliver students home at an
earlier time. May we ask you to make arrangements for your child(ren)
to be able to gain access to your home if, in an emergency, they arrive home
early. If access to your home is not possible, can you arrange for
them to go to a neighbours home? If you are not at home when your
child(ren) arrives home early , they should phone you at work from your home
or that of a neighbour to inform you of what is happening. If your
child(ren) is not able to gain access to your home, or that of a neighbour,
arrangements will be made to look after them until we can contact you.
In bad weather conditions, many parents and staff phone into school.
Please be patient, we will answer your call as soon as we can. Thank
you for your help. We hope we don't need to close the school this
winter , but if we do, the above arrangements will help make the closure
smooth and safe for your child(ren).
